Passed away peacefully August 1, 2026, at the age of 77.
Bonnie Ann Thompson was predeceased by her loving husband, Gary Thompson, and her siblings, Linda Hohn and Larry Derrickson. She is survived by her siblings Deanna Hamilton, Rose Lube, Dave Derrickson, and Marion Radawetz; her children, Gary Thompson and Leann Miller; her grandchildren, Coralee Miller, Devon Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie lived a life full of simple adventures, working in many vocations. Most recently as the Manager of Support Services with Pine Acres Care Home. Bonnie, true to her nature, was inconceivably quick-witted, with a love for teasing those close to her, and especially teasing people she had just met. Truly, a good-natured jokester.
Albeit stubborn and extremely strong-willed, Bonnie had a heart of gold with plenty of time made for coffee, friends, and family. Bonnie was known to have many talents, with a reputation for being able to fix just about anything.
Her home was a hub for close family, friends, and holiday feasts. Whether you liked it or not, you wouldn’t leave hungry. Bonnie’s home over the years served also as a hub for the many nieces and nephews, who spent summers and holidays growing and sharing their adventures with their Auntie Bonnie.
Aside from family, Bonnie had plenty of room in her heart for her two dogs, Ice and Sage, and of course, her longtime favorite in memory, Ivy.
The Family would like to invite you to share in Bonnie’s memory, with a service being held this Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 1:00 pm (PDT), at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC (parking accessible from either Barlee Road or Ambrosi Road).
