
It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt faith in God’s eternal promise that we announce the passing of Lauriana Ribeiro, a devoted mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, who was called to rest peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 90.
Born in Madelena, Azores, Portugal, Lauriana carried the strength, humility, and rich traditions of her homeland throughout her life. A woman of unwavering faith, she was devoted to the Catholic Church and found great comfort and purpose in prayer, the Holy Rosary, and the celebration of the Sacraments. Her life was a testament to quiet devotion, kindness, and steadfast love for her family and community.
Lauriana was known for her gentle spirit, warm hospitality, and tireless dedication to her loved ones. Her home was always open, often filled with the comforting aromas of traditional Portuguese cooking and cherished stories from the past. She instilled in her family the values of respect, faith, and perseverance.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eduino Ribeiro, and is lovingly remembered by her children, Antonio (Isabel), Eduino (Judith), Carlos (Maria), Norman (Isabel) her cherished grandchildren Michael, Christopher, Jennifer, Jayson, Julia (Brian), Daniel and Liliana, and extended family and friends both in Canada and Azores. Each carries forward her legacy of faith, love, and resilience.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Lauriana has been welcomed into the arms of Our Lord and reunited with those who have gone before her. Her life reminds us of the beauty of simple devotion and the strength found in faith.
Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel on June 15, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at San Salvador Do Mundo Church 1212 Melton Drive, Mississauga on Tuesday June 16 at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Assumption Cemetery.
