It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathe Esther Neufeld, who peacefully went home to be with her Lord Jesus on July 29, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born to John and Sara Siemens in Winnipeg on May 7, 1942, Kay grew up mostly in Arnold, BC, and later Clearbrook. She was a warm, welcoming soul who loved being surrounded by people. It was in her mother’s presence, at a young age, that she first gave her heart to the Lord. At an evangelistic meeting, the words “He that has the Son has Life” (1 John 5:12) took root in her heart and became the strength she carried for the rest of her life. She was baptized at Clearbrook MB Church.
Kay met her husband, Hank, and in 1962 they were married. They accepted a year-long MCC mission in Atlanta, moved back to Clearbrook a year later and started to raise their family. In 1976, they moved to Kelowna, where Hank and Kay, together with the Born family, started Kelowna Ready Mix.
Kay loved social environments and was gifted with making everyone feel welcome. She was a woman of deep faith and lived it out loud, with generosity, warmth, and an open heart. She dedicated her life to her family through every season of life. Her kindness and nurturing spirit created a sanctuary for everyone she knew.
Kay was predeceased by her parents, husband Hank, and brother Jack. She is survived by her sons, Stuart (Renata), Dean (Cory), and John; grandchildren Dakota, Hailey, Matteo, Austin, Hunter, Niko, and Ethan, along with dear family Chris, Kai, and Ariel; and six great-grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed, and her warmth will live on in every life she touched.
A Celebration of Life, with Pastor Arnie Peters officiating, will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 11:30 AM (PDT), at Willow Park Church (439 Highway 33 West, Kelowna, BC). If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service; a recording will be made available to view in 3-5 days.
