She was taken to Heaven by Our Blessed Lord Jesus and his Holy Mother Mary on Thursday, June 18th, 2026 after a valiant and heroic six year battle against breast cancer.
Rosie, as she liked to be called, was born in Cranbrook, BC on May 2nd, 1967 to Ada (Day) Sands (d.2017) and Kieran James Sands (d.1979).
She spent much of her younger years in foster care till she found her “Mom” and “Dad” in Joyce and Paul Mulvihill who gave her a stable and loving home and the foundation she needed to make a life for herself.
Rosemarie Geraghty worked as a child-youth worker in her younger days but her passion was always Baking. She always said she loved to see people enjoy her food and smile. Rosie’s Eats and Tasty Treats was launched a short two years ago at the Prescott Market and was very successful. So much so that the township wanted Rosie to open a storefront.
The greatest joy of her and her husband Mike’s life was that they found each other eighteen years ago. They had a wonderful life filled with great happiness and a genuinely deep and enduring love. Mike will remain her husband for life and into eternity.
Left to mourn her passing are siblings:
Patrick, Thom, Kevin, Karen, Ruth, and Eileen. Her son James, daughter Maggie, and two grandchildren, many Aunts and Uncles, and cousins, particularly Ken and Sue Dewolfe who always looked out for her.
She is also dearly missed by her loving niece Bridget, and family, Jesse, Landon,Adalynn and Dawson.
Also her friends and fellow vendors at the market who loved her as much as she did them.
Our deepest gratitude to all the wonderful staff at Brockville General Hospital who took such excellent and loving care of Rosie.
