We announce the passing of Jill Rivers, who left an indelible mark on our hearts, with her daughter at her side on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Bluewater Health. Beloved wife of the late David George Rivers (2012). Devoted mother of Melissa Rivers. Lovingly remembered by her nieces Tanya (Rob) McGill and Marissa (Jay) Morden, their families, and cousin Joanne Cunningham.
Dear sister of Greg (Cynthia) Stokes, and sister-in-law of Ann Marie Stokes. Survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many dear friends. Predeceased by her parents Morley and Bettie Stokes, and by her siblings; Mary Marg (Doug) Horner, Kim Smith, and Rod Stokes. Jill had a lengthy and rewarding 30 plus year career at Bluewater Health, retiring as manager in the housekeeping department.
Jill Victoria Rivers had many hobbies including crafting, baking, and gardening, but her most enjoyed hobby was crafting with her daughter and nieces. Jill had a generous spirit; every holiday she spent time making and filling baskets with goodies for the mom’s staying at the Women’s Interval Home. Above all things, Jill loved her family so deeply. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the Smith Family Centre, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Doctors Without Borders or the Women’s Interval Home (cheques only at the funeral home please).
