Peacefully, on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Bob passed away at the age of 88. Beloved partner for 9 years of Nancy Legere. Loving father of Shelley (Gerry) Surette and Bryan (Karen) Berglund. Cherished grandfather of Jamie Miner, Haley Surette, Brock (Katie) Surette, Jesse (Eada) Surette, Jenna (Jace) Flamminio, Matthew (Joscel) Berglund, Jacob Berglund. Great grandfather of Caleb, Mason, Hunter, Benjamin, Olivia, River, Jacob, Mateo, Lilah, and Lochlan.
Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and close friends. Pre-deceased by his children Michael and Paul, his wife of 58 years Nancy Berglund (Thorner), brother Kurt Berglund, and sister Phylis Brooks. Bob was a long-time member of the Loyal Order of Moose and a long-time volunteer of the Sarnia Silver Stick Hockey Association.
Robert Berglund was a master carpenter and long-time local contractor. Special thanks to Bluewater Health Petrolia & Sarnia and Afton Park Place doctors, nurses, PSW’s, staff, and caregivers for all their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Temple Baptist Church, 1410 Quinn Drive, Sarnia, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
