Passed away peacefully at Huron Hospice surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at the age of 84. Cherished wife of Norm Leddy for over 63 years. Loving mom of Amy Fay, and Lisa and Rob Dupee. Proud grandma of Stephaney (Adam), Michael (Jenn); Lucas, and Caleb and great-grandma of Hudson, Isabella, Lylah, Landen and Kinsley. Dear sister-in-law of Harold and Dianne Leddy, and Jim and Susan Leddy. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and Mark Fay. Dearly missed by her four-legged companion Muffin. Predeceased by parents Earl and Amy Cooper, her sister Phyllis Sawyer and siblings-in-law Clayton (Marion), Eleanor (Bob), Betty Jean, and Joanne.
Sandra Leddy found happiness in the simple things in life—time spent with family, a good game of cards, and plenty of laughter along the way. She enjoyed reading, bingo, more card games, knitting in years past, and more recently, a good game of Skip-Bo. She made wonderful memories travelling with Norm, enjoying a couple of cruises together and escaping the cold for a few winters in Florida. Above all, Sandra treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered for her famous mac and cheese, her Christmas baking, and for making sure no one left without a cookie—because in Sandra’s world, everyone had to have a cookie.
Visitation will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 156 North Street, GODERICH on Monday, August 24 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, where Sandra’s Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM. Cremation with interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, Colborne.
Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 109 (Goderich) , Alexandra Marine & General Hospital Foundation- MRI Fund or Huron Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff and volunteers from Huron Hospice and all of the caregivers involved in her home, ensuring Sandra and her family were compassionately cared for over the last few years.
